Matlab ask me to activate / validate my license whereas I have been using it for 5 months already. I am on Mac.
What if I do not find any .lic file ? I also have so many different .enc and .xml files.

One other scenario to be aware of is when a 'Standalone Named User' account is installed using an Windows Admin account on a Win7 machine, but then launched from a Windows User account. Since the license file is associated with the login name, it will not recognize the 'Regular User'. If you are installing with Admin account but plan to use Matlab primarily with a separate User account, make sure to put that login name in the 'Activation' module when prompted.

Hello, I have the same problem , I run Matlab 2017a .
I have a group license. I removed the lisence file in the lisence folder and re activated using the wizard , but still Matlab doesn't launch.

it didn't solve the problem- my license folder had one LIC file in it, which I deleted. I launched MATLAB again, and it just added the same LIC file to the same folder and the continuous activation is still occurring. thank you for helping

Thank you so much! It worked! So, I deleted the previous license file and downloaded a new license file and used that to activate the software and finally, it opened. :)

This did not work for my Linux CentOS installation. I deleted the license file and went through the activation procedure, which generated a new license file. When I started Matlab, the activation window came up again.
I also tried the -c option for starting MATLAB and pointed toward the license file. In that case, I got the following error.
Looking up errors -1 and 379 didn't result in any solutions either.
